Hot, cutting or bulk: which travel lead should you buy?

A practical guide to choosing between hot, cutting, bulk and exclusive travel leads based on your team size and budget.

On Leadswala every lead has a colour. Green is Hot, orange is Cutting, blue is Bulk. The colour tells you how many agents already have the lead and how old it is. Here is how to decide what to buy.

Hot leads (green)

Fresh enquiries that nobody has bought yet. You pay the highest price, but you are first on the phone. Best for agencies that can call immediately and have strong packages for that destination.

Exclusive leads

A Hot lead bought as Exclusive is removed for everyone else. Use this for high-budget trips — international holidays, big family groups, honeymoons — where one booking pays for many leads.

Cutting leads (orange)

One agent already bought the lead, so you get it at half price. You will not be first, but many travellers compare two quotes before deciding. A sharp package and a quick follow-up can still win.

Bulk leads (blue)

Enquiries older than the bulk window. They cost very little and suit agencies with a telecalling team. Many travellers are still undecided a day later — especially for trips several weeks away.

A simple mix that works

  • Small agency, owner calls: mostly Hot leads for your top 2–3 destinations.
  • Agency with 2–3 callers: Hot plus Cutting leads during the day.
  • Telecalling team: Bulk leads in volume, plus Exclusive for high budgets.

Whatever you choose, track your bookings in My Leads for two weeks, then shift your spend toward the tier that gives the lowest cost per booking.
